The Will of God
Nov 15th, 2007 | By admin | Category: Faith, General, TheologyHave you ever wondered how you can discover God’s best for your life? I know that I have often asked this question. Some people view God’s will as a tight rope where if you are not careful, you will fall. Others view God’s will as a small circle that you are either in or you are not. They often say that God’s will is a small, slippery spot. Still others view God’s will as some mystical force out there that causes them to act in certain ways, to go in certain directions, and to pursue certain activities. They may even call this their “destiny.”
I believe that God’s will is something that is profoundly simple while being somewhat complex. According to Romans 12:1-2, one can know God’s will by giving his entire self over to Him as a living sacrifice who does not allow the world to influence him, but rather allows God to renew his mind. This person will discover that God’s will is good, pleasant, and perfect. In simplistic terms, you know God’s will by doing what God calls you to do one day at a time. God’s will is simply being obedient to his call daily. God’s will is that you become like Christ (Romans 8:29).
Prayer: “Lord, help me to know your will by doing your will day by day.” A-men.
